One of the most important key enablers for the green energy transition is represented by battery technology which bears a broad application potential in the power and transport sectors. As a corollary of the wide variety of applications and in order to bring products from concept readiness level to market level, the research and development of new types of batteries designed to best fit the specific requirements of each application is a necessary step.

Great endeavor over the world is directed to the development of various advanced batteries, from advanced Li-ion to non-Li batteries, and as such, all solid-state Li-ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, Na-ion and multivalent ion batteries, redox flow-batteries, or metal-air batteries. Current workshop aims at giving an overview of the state-of-art and development efforts and discussing cutting-edge research for the various battery technologies.
